Many people are not familiar with various forms of poker games and their variations. Here it is explained how the “7 card stud poker” is played.
Stud poker is a popular game in which a set number of cards are there that are opened for all players’ view and rest are held with the individual. A seven card stud poker is played with each player contributing an initial set amount in the pot before card dealing.
Three cards are dealt and the first card is open to everyone’s view and two cards are dealt face down. The player who has the lowest card face up starts the betting and the betting is done in clockwise direction.
After the first round of betting, the fourth card is dealt and the player with best hand bets first this time around. Players have choice of calling, raising the bet or folding. The dealer deals the 5th card and then deals the 6th card face up with a round of betting after each deal. There are more betting rounds in 7 card stud than in No Limit Hold’em, but as there are betting limits, pots don’t go up exponentially each street.
Some players fold when they don’t have a good hand and others bluff to make others believe that they have a good one which makes poker all the more exciting. The dealer deals the 7th card face down to all remaining players and betting continues. After the betting it is time for a showdown and the player with the best combination of a 5 card hand is declared the winner.
